Ground Carob

Carob is a wild tree or bush from the Legume family that grows in the warm Mediterranean climate.

It was used in Ancient Egypt as a sweetener and today it is used as a substitute for coffee and cocoa and as a cake and bagel filling. What makes carob so special is its similarity to chocolate, but it is much healthier.

Carob seeds can be eaten as snacks, indeed the entire pod can be used in the same manner thanks to its sweet flavour.
